This is the very first product I concocted, about 23 years ago now. It wasn’t for fun or as a hobby. This was out of severe necessity – both my health and my pocketbook were in harm’s way. I had a bridge that had shifted position over the years; this brought on a nasty infection. Told I needed pricey dental surgery (ouch to both body and bank account) I turned my attention to finding a product that might heal the damage. Fortunately, I was knowledgeable, as part of the job I had then, in the herbal advices of Dr. John Christopher. This Master Herbalist taught that one particular herb, actually a tree bark, handles anything going on in the mouth. Checking carefully for this ingredient in the dental products at local health food stores proved a wash. Nothing there. What I did find in the so-called “natural” dental products were ingredients I did not want in my mouth. Online search got me no closer. So, I studied to make sure I was up on any dental health-related herbal knowledge and new discoveries, collected my ingredients and put together Tooth & Gum Powder.
And guess what! It worked! I never did have to get that surgery. Not to this day.
When some friends tried the dental powder back around 2000 and loved it, the idea was born of making it available to others. I had my teeth cleaned after using the Tooth and Gum Powder for a month or so. The hygienist said that my gums were in great shape. I went to my endodontist in February 2003 to perform a repeat root canal on a molar. The doctor found on an x-ray that the bone around the tooth was very weak and not much of it was left. She warned me in advance that the chances of saving the tooth were 50/50 and we went ahead and did the retreatment for the canals on that tooth. After 3 months I had the tooth inspected and there was very little growth of the bone around the tooth. The doctor decided to put on some more medication and wait 3 more months. Usage Tips
Have a toothbrush out ready to take hold of. Shake out some powder onto the clean palm of your hand and pick the powder up with the brush. Brush teeth and gums. If you wish, hold the powder in your mouth for a while or spit it out and rinse.
You’ll want to rinse out the sink as the powder is brown. Ditto with the brush – a brush used for this powder is likely to get brownish even after being cleaned well.
To address an area particularly, you may get some powder between your fingers and apply it to that area, press the powder against the exact area you want it to touch. Some people will leave the powder in there while, for example, they shower and get dressed and then spit it out and rinse.
Don’t put the powder in your mouth and leave it as above if you are going to sleep.
Most people use once or twice a day to maintain, but if this dental powder can be applied more often as needed.

I have used Evan’s amazing Tooth and Gum Powder for many years, maybe 15 or so. I found it by googling organic tooth powders as what I had been using was full of ingredients I did not want in my mouth or body. And this was from a health food store! I loved the powder immediately and it did such wonders for my teeth and gums. In 1993, almost 30 years ago, a dentist said I needed a root canal and I said no way because of the pain. I wasn’t aware at that time of holistic dentistry and how difficult a root canal is on the body. To this day, I still have that tooth! From time to time it is sensitive so I use the Tooth and Gum Powder twice a day rather than just at night. It always works to eliminate the sensitivity in just a day or so. I generally use Evan’s Toothpaste or Tooth Polish in the morning which both have an amazing strong peppermint presence invigorating my mouth and freshening my breath.
