Research over the past few decades has demonstrated that high insulin levels, caused by the consumption of grains and sugars, are the single greatest cause of rapid aging. To look and feel young and healthy, one of the best things you can do is to eliminate sweets as well as grains (cereals, bread, pasta and the like) in favor of whole vegetables in the diet.
An excellent book you can get on the subject is “The Rosedale Diet” by Ron Rosedale, M.D. (Available at Amazon.com) Dr. Rosedale details the research in understandable terms and offers concrete suggestions and applications of the information.
The results of applying this sound information on diet include:
- Improved skin
- Increased energy
- Reduced aches and pains
- Improved flexibility
- More balanced hormones
- Better memory
- A more positive outlook
- Increased overall health
Dietary supplementation can be helpful as well, though many supplements on the market, being synthetic and unbalanced, may do more harm than good. It’s best to use whole “food-based” supplements. One good solution may be found on our supplements page.
Please note that this is not about eliminating all carbohydrates from the diet, but only those things that cause excessive insulin levels, which grains and sugars happen to do. Consuming the right KIND of carbs (as well as fats and proteins) is the key here.
I hope you find this helpful!
