Based upon holistic aromatherapy specifically for dogs, this oil can be helpful for insect bites, minor cuts or scrapes, irritations, burns, bruises, post-operative incisions, and the like.
I have taken into careful consideration the concentration of even canine-safe essential oils in the formulation of Sir Rex Waggentail's(tm) First Aid Oil for Dogs.
Essential oils must be applied knowledgeably to animals. When people don't realize this and use too much, animals can be placed, much like human babies or elderly people, in danger. Some essential oils are bad for pets. For example, tea tree oil (melaleuca alternifolia), so frequently used by people, a poor choice for a cat, dog or any especially small animal - I would only use it if it were hugely diluted. Don't guess. I hope your dog doesn't need this oil often but that you both love it!

sweet almond oil, neem oil, essential oils of ravensara aromatica, lavender, labdanum and immortelle, and a small amount of a blend of herbal tinctures I made to help calm the wound, speed the healing process and strengthen the skin and bones: calendula, arnica, comfrey root, oak bark, gravel root, mullein, lobelia, wormwood, marshmallow root, skullcap and walnut root, and olive oil.
